Fires claim homes in Wellsville and Richmond

Ottawa Herald – October 18, 2018

Two house fires in the county were reported earlier this week.

An abandoned house in Wellsville, 603 Walnut St., caught fire Monday and was snuffed out by the Wellsville Fire District firefighters. It was reported a faulty furnace caused the blaze.

At 2:18 a.m. Tuesday, a fire destroyed the home of Mike and Darla LaRose of Richmond. Five fire departments battled the blaze in the 500 block of E. Central St., Richmond. There were no reported injuries. An investigator from the state fire Marshal’s office investigated the cause of the fire.
