Sabetha Herald – August 16, 2018

The Kansas Forestry Service has awarded a $9,000 grant to the Sabetha Fire Department for new radios.

According the Sabetha Fire Chief Jim Johnson, the Department was awarded $9,000 through the Volunteer Fire Assistance Cooperative Fire Protection Program. The grant is to be split in half, with the City of Sabetha providing half the funds.

Five 800 MHz radios will be purchased, which will allow the SFD to communicate more effectively with local and state first response and public safety agencies who use 800 MHz radios.
