One person is dead following a wreck in southeast Topeka involving a truck and a motorcycle.

The crash was reported just after 3:40 Tuesday afternoon in the 2300 block of SE Croco Rd.

When crews arrived they found the driver of the motorcycle suffering critical injuries. He was taken by AMR to an area hospital where he later died.

Police said the occupants in the truck were not injured.

An early investigation by police indicates the driver of the motorcycle was traveling south on Croco Rd. and the truck was headed north when the driver of the truck attempted to make a left turn to head west on SE 23rd Ter. and the two collided.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while crews work the scene.

The identity of the victim is being withheld from police until family is notified.

The cause of the crash is under investigation at this time.
