The cause of a garage fire in eastern Geary County is being labeled as unintentional.

According to Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges, fire crews responded to 8867 Humboldt Creek Road Monday at 1:10 a.m. Fire crews found a detached garage and shed on fire; crews left the scene shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Berges said there were no vehicles in the shed other than a boat on a trailer. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is electrical; however, it’s not clear how much damage was done.

“We’re still waiting on an estimate on dollar loss on this one,” he said.
