Fire Department wins Battle of the Badges

Concordia Blade – July 13, 2018

The Concordia Fire Department squeezed out a 6-5 win over the Cloud County Department of Corrections in the Second Annual Battle of the Badges played at the Concordia Sports Complex.

It was the second straight year winning the battle for the Concordia Fire Department.

The Republic County Highway Department beat the Concordia Fire Department 20-2 and the Cloud County Department of Corrections 10-9 to capture the tournament title.

The Battle of the Badges was played in honor of Concordia Police Officer Marc Henry who was killed in a motorcycle accident in June.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund.
