The Wilson Lighting store near 105th and Metcalf caught fire in Overland Park on Friday evening.

A customer noticed flames on the roof and called the fire department just after 6 p.m.

When crews arrived, smoke was visible as they approached the store.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly and the damage was contained to the part of the roof where it began.

The fire did not damage the inside of the building.

Crews are working to protect the interior from potential water damage by covering as much as possible.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, which is currently unknown.
