No one was hurt late Thursday in a fire that burned a vacant mobile home in North Topeka’s Little Russia community, authorities said.

Topeka firefighters responded at 10:52 p.m. to a report of a structure fully involved in flames at 550 N.E. Gordon, said a dispatcher for the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the mobile home, then searched it and found no one inside, said Topeka Fire Marshal Mike Martin.

“Preliminary investigation indicates the cause of the fire as undetermined, pending further investigation,” he said.

Damages were estimated at $2,000 to the structure, with no dollar damages to its contents, Martin said.

Smoke detectors were not present inside the mobile home, he said.

The Topeka Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Westar Energy, Kansas Gas Service and American Medical Response Ambulance Co.

Shawnee County appraisal records listed the value of the property at 550 N.E. Gordon as being $7,430.
