An overnight fire at a southwest Lawrence apartment complex caused visible damage and seems to have displaced some residents, although few details were available Thursday afternoon.

Emergency responders were called to 2111 Kasold Drive for a fire at 12:27 a.m. Thursday, according to an entry in the Lawrence police call log.

The Journal-World contacted the Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical department for details earlier Thursday but had not heard back about the fire as of 3 p.m.

The rental office at the site was closed Thursday afternoon. When reached about the fire, a representative of the complex’s owners, Cherry Hill Properties, told a reporter that “we’re not commenting on it right now.”

A van belonging to a restoration service was parked at one of the units Thursday afternoon, and a note on a door said that residents affected by the fire could contact that restoration company.
