Man dies after fall at silo

Marysville Advocate – June 20, 2018

A fundraiser has been established for the family of Steven Curtis-Boese, who died Saturday after he fell inside a ladder cage attached to a silo on a northeast Marshall County farm.

A GoFundMe account has been established online in support of the Curtis-Boese family. Steven’s wife, Jessica, is expecting a child, and the fund will help with the new baby, according to the site.

Marshall County Sheriff Dan Hargrave reported that dispatch received a 911 call about the accident at 6:38 p.m. Saturday.

Officers responded to the farm at 2475 Harvest Road along with Axtell Fire Department, Axtell Ambulance Service, Beattie Fire Department and a Lifestar helicopter.

Curtis-Boese was pronounced dead at the scene.

A funeral service was set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Marysville’s American Legion hall. Visitation was to be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
