KAKE – June 4, 2018
Authorities say a 41-year-old man has died after a deer darted out in front of his motorcycle on a Kansas highway.
The accident happened just after 12 a.m. Friday near 90th and K-4, north of Meriden and west of Perry Lake. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Robert Nelson was heading north on K-4 when a deer entered the roadway.
Nelson’s Honda motorcycle struck the deer and he was ejected. He died at the scene.
The patrol’s online crash log says Nelson was not wearing a helmet or protective gear. He was from Dallas.
