A Reno County man died in a farming accident Monday morning.

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Daniel Bruce Smith, of Penalosa, died when the bucket of a skid steer fell on him.

The sheriff’s office says Smith was setting t-post when the bucket became separated from the skid steer. It hit Smith in the head before coming to rest on his victims lower extremities.

The skid steer operator got out and attempted to move the bucket off of Smith. Once it was removed, he did CPR on Smith.
