One man was killed after a one-vehicle rollover crash Friday afternoon just south of Topeka on US-75 highway.

The crash involving a gray pickup truck was reported at about 1 p.m. about a quarter-mile north of S.W. 57th and US-75 in the southbound lanes.

The driver of the truck who was killed was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Jordan Plachecki said the driver was northbound on US-75 highway when he the left the roadway for an unknown reason, crossing through the median and the southbound lanes of the highway before going into the west ditch.

His truck rolled over, and he was ejected from the pickup, Plachecki said.

It’s unknown at this time whether the victim was wearing a seat belt.

The man’s name and age weren’t being released pending notification of his family.

US-75 is four lanes at that location.

Traffic in the area was slowed because of the incident.
