4 killed in rollover crash on I-70 near Abilene

KAKE – December 26, 2017

A trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol says four people have died in a rollover crash on Interstate 70.

The single-vehicle crash happened just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on westbound I-70 near Abilene. Names of the victims have not been released.

“Troopers are working to complete ALL death notifications to the families involved before further info is released to the public.” Gardner said on Twitter.

Gardner said says the vehicle went off the roadway and rolled over. The cause of the accident isn’t immediately known but snow was falling Tuesday morning, causing slick roadways in many parts of the state.

Several vehicles slid off of roads and highways because of the slick conditions, Gardner said, but no other fatal wrecks were reported.
