Ronald DePriest

Ronald DePriest, 76, left this earth to meet our savior on July 1, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5 from 1-8 with the family to receive friends from 5-7 at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 6 at First Presbyterian Church of Derby. Interment will be at El Paso Cemetery, Derby.

Ron was born in Caruthersville, Mo. on Nov. 5, 1940 to William and Katheryne DePriest. He graduated from Dexter High School and worked for his father’s plumbing business until serving in the USAF from 1961-1965. On Sept. 29, 1979 Ron married Pamela Powell in Derby, Kan. Ron retired from Maize School District in 2010 and retired from the Derby Fire and Rescue Department in 2012 after serving as a volunteer firefighter for 47 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Derby.

Ron was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, Eric (Amy) DePriest; grandsons, Colby and Colt DePriest; brother Darryl (Pat); sister,Vivian Burned; stepbrother, George Jr (Dianne) Watkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Derby, 324 N. Baltimore, Derby, KS 67037.
