Mobile home fire investigation in Cowley County

KAKE – July 11, 2017

An early-morning disturbance call in Cowley County led to the discovery of a mobile home on fire.

A statement from Sheriff David Falletti said deputies were called about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday to the area of 192nd Road and 151st Road, about three miles east of Winfield. A mobile home had smoke coming from it, which quickly became a full fire.

“A Deputy reported hearing what sounded like popping noises from inside the residence and believed it could either be gun shots or noises from the fire itself,” Falletti said. The statement did not mention whether anyone was injured.

Falletti added the cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
