Power line safety school set for July 20

Hiawatha World – July 5, 2017

Kansas Power and Light and the Hiawatha Fire Department will be hosting a Power Line Safety School that is open to the public. This school is intended for all public safety officers and fire personnel. Kansas Power and Light wants to make the class available to the public to make them aware of the dangers of working around power lines and even electricity at home.

The class will be held at 7 p.m. at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha on July 20. Instructors from Kansas Power and Light along with their safety trailer will be there.

Refreshments will be served during the class so we would like to have an approximate number that will attend the class. Please RSVP by July 17 by calling Gary Shear at (785) 742-3341 or Jordanne Shockley at (785) 742-7417.
