Woman killed in Manhattan crash identified

Gayla Fief, 53, of Manhattan was killed when her Toyota Camry collided with a Chevrolet Silverado near Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Seth Child Road just after noon Saturday.

Fief was extracted from her vehicle by the Manhattan Fire Department before being transported by Lifestar to Stormont Vail in Topeka. She later died from her injuries.

The driver of the Silverado, Romelia Sutton, and her passenger Jazmin Vera-Galvan, both of Marysville, were transported by EMS to Via Christi for treatment.

During the course of the accident investigation, RCPD determined that Fief pulled out in front of Sutton, who did not have time to avoid a collision.

Officers were assisted by Riley County Rural Fire, Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County EMS.
