Girl Scouts help fire department

Harper Advocate – May 10, 2017
Submitted by Newz Group – June 13, 2017

This year members of Harper Girl Scout Troop 50090 sold 5075 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Top seller was Cassidy Misak selling 754 boxes. Each year the girls give a third of their profits to a local organization and this year’s recipient was the Harper Fire Department. Top seller Cassidy is shown presenting a check for over $800 to Fire Chief Ken Leu. The fire chief said the funds would be used to purchase new wildland firefighting gear replacing 15 year old ragged and worn out gear. Shown on the fire department’s 1924 Model T are, left to right, Addison Troyer, Emilee Hicks, Adriahna Knapp, Braelyn Durham, Atiana Ward, Chloe Twyman, Audrey Befort, Elliott Evans, Semara Abraham. Top row: Daytona Misak, Ayelet Garcia, Jeslin Durham, Aniston Blanchat, Chloe Cannon, Savannah Baker, Melody Antoine and Lexi Sneary.
