A Kansas City, Kan. police officer helped to extinguish a vehicle blaze late Friday.

The incident occurred on southbound I-35 near Cambridge Circle in Kansas City, Kan.

The officer, whom a department spokesman could not identify, used an extinguisher to fight the flames while waiting for firefighters to arrive.

Sgt. James Vogel with KCK police said the KCK Fire Department later arrived to help extinguish the fire.

A minor injury was reported in the incident, Vogel said.
