Topeka Capital Journal – March 8, 2017

A car was destroyed by fire early Wednesday on a south Topeka street, authorities said.

The blaze was reported around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of S.W. Topeka Boulevard and S. Kansas Avenue. The location is near the 3800 block of S.W. Topeka Boulevard.

A Volkswagen Jetta was reported to have been destroyed by the fire.

Crews spent around 20 minutes putting out the fire, an effort that was made more difficult by a ruptured fuel line in the vehicle, officials said.

No injuries were reported.
