Topeka firefighters are looking into the cause of a house fire in central Topeka.

Fire was called in at a home in the 1900 block of SW Van Buren around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Fire crews noticed heavy smoke coming from the front of the home, and they kept the fire contained to that spot.

Nobody was hurt, and fire crews say the fire originated from the front porch area. However, they still don’t know exactly what caused it.

Authorities did say that no foul play was suspected.

Estimated damage losses are around $20,000.
