Two dead and two disabled in crash Saturday evening

An accident in Linn County Saturday leaves two disabled and two dead.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol, Issiah Pendergrass, 18 of Gardner, Kansas and Trista Vail, 33 of Butler Missouri were killed in a car crash yesterday evening.

Around 4:15 P.M. a Honda Accord carrying Pendergrass and two others, was headed south on road 1095 when it failed to stop at a stop sign.

A Ford Expedition carrying Vail and two others was headed east on road 1150, approaching road 1095, when the Honda struck the rear of the Ford. Both vehicles left the roadway and went into the southeast ditch, where the Honda ended up striking a utility pole.

The driver of the Honda, Ryan Boyd, 25 of Independence was disabled in the crash. The driver of the Ford, Johnny Stephens, 38 also from Independence, was disabled in the crash as well.
