Graham County Fire Chief and Emergency Services Director Mickie Helberg listed the damages in a Hill City area home fire last week as “minimal”.

Chief Helberg noted that the Graham County Fire Department Hill City unit was called out on a very cold Wednesday morning, January 4, 2017. The home involved was the log house located on U.S. Highway 24 at the east side of Hill City. The property is owned by Blake and Brianna Wolf of Concordia, Kansas and is rented out.

The fire chief said that damage was limited to a railing on the front porch; and the cause was believed to have been an improperly disposed of cigarette.
