The new Brown County Squad 48 Rescue truck is in service.
The 2015 Ford 550 XLT crew cab replaces the 1989 International truck the Rescue Squad has been using. The new truck came from VT Hackney, based out of North Carolina.
“The new truck was approved last July by the County Commissioners for $159,000, which was paid for by the county,” said Rescue Squad Chief Duke Koerperich. “The Rescue Squad department helped design the truck to meet the needs of each call.”
The Rescue Squad, made up of all volunteers, covers all of Brown County for injury wrecks and structure fires.
Chief Koerperich and the Rescue Squad would like to thank everyone involved in helping purchase the new truck, noting it will be a great asset for Brown County.
