Six people — two adults and four children — were taken to a local hospital early Thursday after their home caught fire in southeast Topeka, authorities said.

None of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 12:08 a.m. at a residence at 231 S.E. 40th Terrace. Fire crews had the blaze under control within about a half hour.

The fire remains under investigation.

The Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family with post fire-related needs.
