Investigators say a child playing with matches started a duplex fire Thursday morning in southeast Wichita.

The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 3900 block of East Roseberry, near Pawnee and Hillside. After a 5-year-old boy started the fire, another child in the home woke their parents.

There were three adults and three children in the duplex. All made it out, but three were treated for minor smoke inhalation.

A damage estimate has not yet been released.
