Last Saturday evening, Miltonvale Fire & EMS held their annual appreciation banquet at the Fire/EMS building. There were 43 that attended the supper from Miltonvale, Clay Center and Aurora.

Miltonvale Rural Fire has four stations with 63 volunteers from Cloud and Clay Counties. Station #1 is located in Miltonvale, #2 is located in Aurora, #3 is located on Highway 24 right across from Schweitzers Station and #4 is located right off Highway 15 south of Clay Center on 18th Road. All four stations cover 320 square miles.

Miltonvale EMS has five EMT’s and seven new EMR’s on staff. Congratulations goes out to the seven EMR’s that have just finished their testing. The other three take their last test in the next week. We are very proud to add to our staff.

We also took a few moments to honor Vernon Palmer. He has retired from the EMS after 16 years of dedicated service to the community. Terry Tate made a short speech and presentation. If you see Vernon take a moment to thank him for all his hard work. You will still see him around on the fire trucks.
