Kansas High Patrol says three people are dead after a head-on collision near the Butler-Greenwood County line.

It happened about 1:30 pm on Highway-54 east of Rosalia.

Troopers say two cars were involved- one traveling east bound, the other west bound. The east bound car had four people involved, three were fatalities and one victim in serious condition. The westbound car had one serious injury as well.

The people with serious injuries were taken to Susan B. Anthony hospital then transferred to Wesley Medical Center.

US-54 is closed right now at the Butler-Greenwood County line while crews investigate the deadly crash.

Lt. C.J. Schreiber says it is too early in the investigation to understand what called the accident.

The highway will be closed approximately 1-2 hours.

No names are released at this time, authorities are still trying to notify family.

Crews recommend you use US-400 and K-99 to detour around.
