A small fire was knocked down at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas, Wednesday night.

KCK firefighters say they received the call shortly before 6 p.m.

They believe the fire started inside a paint shop. Investigators say welding tools may have been to blame. Lubricants along a conveyor belt caught fire.

A viewer posted a photo to KMBC 9 News Facebook page showing smoke visible from outside of the building.

Firefighters say some of the cars in the paint shop suffered smoke damage. No one was injured.
