Visitors and members can explore the many facets of aviation fire, search, and rescue. We are pleased to be joined by several search and rescue organizations for this special day.

The Civil Air Patrol will bring a Cessna 182 airplane and as long as it isn’t at work in the field, EagleMed will bring one of their medical transport helicopters. Wichita Fire Department and McConnell Air Force Base Fire Department will be on site with their fire prevention trailers. You’ll be able to talk with the people who work with the equipment and find out what their jobs are like.

Wing Kidz Club members will have a special opportunity to meet with a search and rescue pilot at 10:30 am, so plan to come early in the day.

In addition, there will be other search and rescue organizations on hand including the Kansas K-9 search and rescue. There will be activities for you to participate in inside and outside on the grassy area. A mock search and rescue will be conducted at 11:30 am in the Spirit lot for you to shadow. A big thanks for EagleMed for sponsor this special focus on fire, search and rescue in aviation.
