Arson is suspected in an early morning vehicle fire at a Salina residence.

Just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, the rear half of a gray 2008 Ford Edge belonging to Angela Matuza, 41, was discovered engulfed in flames in a driveway in the 100 block of South Ohio Street, according to Capt. Mike Sweeney of the Salina Police Department.

Firefighters with the Salina Fire Department were able to contain the fire, Sweeney said. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000.

Sweeney said officials are investigating the fire as an arson. No arrests have been made.
