No one was hurt in a crash between a pickup and a school bus that blocked traffic Friday morning at 11th and Baker in Hutchinson.

The intersection, just east of the Kansas National Guard Armory on 11th, was completely blocked at about 7:30 a.m. but was reopened after the bus was removed at 8:17 a.m.

There were no injuries as previously reported.

The bus was northbound on Baker turning left onto 11th, and the truck was eastbound on 11th. According to Hutchinson Police Department officer James Sanders, the driver of the truck had the sun in his eyes and didn’t see the traffic light at the intersection.

There were 10 children on the bus, and they were being unloaded at 7:55 a.m. EMS checked all the children while they were still on the bus and then left the scene.

The bus had been on its way to both Hutchinson High School and Graber Elementary School.
