North Topeka Crash Sends Seaman Students To Hospital

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash Thursday morning near Seaman High School.

Officials say that a white Chevy Impala, occupied by three Seaman High School students stopped at the stop sign on NW 50th and then attempted to cross NW Topeka Blvd when a red Chevy Silverado failed to yield to the Silverado and collided in the intersection.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch south of NW 50th west of Topeka Blvd.

The Impala was reportedly driven by Mary-Jane A. Davison, 17 , of Topeka who suffered minor injuries. Her two passengers were identified as Kayle A. Willis, 17, and Renne E. Correa, 17, both of Topeka.

Correa was extricated from the Impala by Soldier Township Fire Department personnel and both Correa and Willis were transported to St. Francis Hospital by AMR with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Silverado was identified as Amy Lewis, 45, of Topeka and was not injured.

The accident is still said to be under investigation.
