U.S. 24 Reopens After 4 Hurt In Wreck

Four people were rushed to the hospital following a wreck that has shut down both lanes of U.S. 24 highway just west of Perry, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. One of the victims suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

Authorities also said an infant was hurt. They did not give a condition nor did they say if the child was the one who could have life-threatening injuries.

Two vehicles were involved in the head-on collision, which occurred occurred between Perry and the Thomasville turnoff just before 3:00 p.m. The whole highway is currently closed. Authorities aren’t sure when it will reopen.

Traffic is being detoured along a local gravel road to Thompsonville Road and back onto US-24, according to the Kansas Dept. of Transportation.
