A 2-alarm fire at a Park City business led to police blocking several streets Sunday night around 7 p.m.

Sedgwick County Dispatch says that Park City Police Department and Valley Center Police are working as traffic control at the intersections of 61st St. and Prospect as well as 59th St. and Prospect and 59th St. and Broadway.

The fire at the wood recycling center created a large amount of thick black smoke causing reduced visibility. The business is in the 5800 block of N. Prospect in Sedgwick County. That’s near the intersection of Broadway and 61st St. North.

There are multiple fire units currently working the fire. Dispatch says Valley Center, Sedgwick County and Park city crews are all assisting. Semi trailers, pallets, and tires all caught fire. The structure was not involved as of 6:48 p.m.

There are reports of loud pops or explosions being heard in the area. Dispatch says a caller told them the business has crude oil in the back and is causing that noise after catching on fire.
