New fire station opening in Haysville

KAKE – April 28, 2014

Sedgwick County is ready to cut the ribbon on a new building for keeping people safe.
Fire Station 34 is opening with a public event at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street in Haysville. It’s the latest in a series of fire station improvements by Sedgwick County Fire District One. The last ribbon cutting (actually involving fire hose) was in October 2013, for Station 36 in Derby.
Haysville doesn’t have its own fire department. The new station is designed to serve the entire city, with more than 12,000 square feet of room. The Fire District says Station 34 is will watch over 91 square miles of land in southern Sedgwick County.
