The first fire was on the lawn of a vacant house for sale at North 14th Street and North Street at 9:15 a.m. Saturday. A neighbor called to report the blaze.

On Sunday, the fire department responded to a controlled burn grass fire south of Taco Bell at about 4:45 p.m. The fire was started along Keystone Road but got away from the, according to Dennis Rockwell, Assistant Fire Chief.

The department was called to a second grass fire on Sunday at 11th Terrace, north of the railroad tracks at about 5:15 p.m. The fire was a controlled burn that spread out of control.
