Authorities evacuated the Walmart in Derby early Friday evening in response to a bomb threat.

A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said 911 receive a report of the threat at 6:15 p.m at the store, 2020 N. Nelson Drive. Derby police and the Derby Fire Department were at the scene, the dispatcher said, but as of 7 p.m. the bomb squad had not been called to assist.

Everyone was ordered out of the store as a precaution, she said. “I believe it was a called-in threat,” she said.

The store is off K-15 near 63rd Street South.
