One car accident results in severe injuries

A  late Saturday night accident resulted in Christina Renea Masters, 27, of Girard, being flown to Freeman Hospital in Joplin for severe injuries.

At 11:51 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department dispatched deputies to 630th Avenue between 170th and 180th streets for a one vehicle injury accident.

According to deputies, Masters was leaving her residence traveling east on 630th Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, entering the south ditch and then rolling several times. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the roadway.

A report by the sheriff’s department stated that Masters was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and sustained severe injuries. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County EMS, Crawford Township Fire and EagleMed Air Ambulance all responded to the scene, and Masters was flown from the scene by EagleMed Air Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
