County considers computer program to post, track all burn permits

Holton Recorder – March 17, 2014
Submitted by Newz Group Clipping Service – April 7, 2014

Pat Korte, director of emergency management noted to the Jackson County Commissioners that the county could use a new web site to post and track burn permits. The initial web page set up cost is $1,000 from Business MD and then there is a reoccurring annual fee of $49 to the web site host.

The fees for the web site would almost deplete the Firefighters Association funds, Korte said. The commissioners stated that since burn permits are a county policy, the county would pay the initial $1,000 for setting up the web page. The Firefighters Association will still be responsible for the yearly payment to the web site host.
