A Monday afternoon fire south of Gorham destroyed two combines and a metal shed.

According to a recent report, the fire occurred at 17953 Fairfield Road, the Glen Blundon residence, and was called in at about 5:45 PM Monday.

Gorham Fire Chief Glen Blundon told KRSL News Tuesday the fire started as maintenance work was being performed on one of the combines.

The Gorham, Rural District 5, Russell Grant, Dorrance and Lucas Fire Departments responded. Victoria Fire Department sent one truck as well and the Russell City Fire Rescue Unit and Russell County EMS also responded.

The fire was extinguished in about three-and-a-half hours according to Blundon.
